CDW 2013

Clerkenwell Design Week was amazing!
I was so excited and nervous, I had butterflies in my stomach like going on the first date. Before we ( I had a great company - Indra) even went in we already were chatting with the girl in the q about new design trends and our favorite choices. We started at Farmiloe Bulding and it was great to see new designers next to more established one. The House of Detention was full of surprises! So here it goes, a few pictures with what I liked and inspired me at the festival..and you still have a chance to see it all Clerkenwell Design Week

one2sit

for my future employer!!
this is the latest project that I developed for a Furniture Design Award in Singapore 2013

The main concept of this project is to have one piece of furniture with more than one function.
In a world where space is a growing issue for more and more people, for students, professionals, and young couples living in small accommodation in cities, this piece helps to save space. It can be used as a chair, as a bench for two people to sit on, and as a table for studying or sharing a meal by sitting on the cushions provided with the design.
The piece can be easily mass manufactured using CNC (computer numerical control) and can be transported and sold as a flatpack. The user can put it together with no glue or screws, just with the help of dowels and a hammer. Instead of hinges, the piece has straps that hold both parts together and enable the chair to unfold as a table. The design is also an environmental product because it is made of MDF or plywood, which are both recycled materials.

Spring

I have a good feeling that this week will be wonderful!! I was sketching some designs for lampshades and got distracted by daffodils on my table..
